Dialog for This Comic
Hope you enjoyed reading Crow Feathers as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Time for an update on what's going on with your friendly neighborhood comic artist.
Right now I am still going to physical therapy three times a week, and doing PT at home for about three hours every day.
On the bright side, I'm a lot better and healthier than I was a few weeks ago. I should hopefully be back to full strength soon.
I'm also working with Beyond Madness and Genius, a small independent game company that will be bringing Point of Descent to XBox Live Indie Games. I worked with them last year, and did some backgrounds for them. I'm doing sprite art for them this year. This is the part where I do the "I'm getting paid!" dance. I'm very excited about that. My comic is fun, but doesn't pay the bills.
Speaking of the comic, Summerside scripting is underway, but not yet completed. I'm estimating that I'm about a third done with the script. It's going slow because of the PT and the paid job, and because we are still working on moving.
Unfortunately, I need to take an indefinite hiatus, mostly to deal with the move, which is a lot of work. I'm sorry. I'm not real happy about that, because I don't want to leave you folks hanging. But all the stuff I have to do, especially moving, requires more time than I currently have. I will bring Saijiki Stories back after we move. I'm targeting June or July.
I'll try to sneak in some bonus art when I can. Check back, OK?
Thanks so much for being patient with me.

So this is Mark typing:
Some of you might be familiar with a little site called www.PurpleFuzzyMonster.com. It’s where I’ve been working on some game designs, and Leanne and I have decided (for accounting simplicity’s sake) to wrap PFM’s products in with Saijiki Stories. In other words, Autumnside Productions is now the umbrella of a micro-scale entertainment group, so there are going to be some changes to the sites to reflect that. The immediate changes will be here at Autumnside.com, so no worries for those of you with links to Saijiki Stories.
Purple Fuzzy Monster’s first game is Starships, a space combat miniatures game. After we make it available through all sorts of on-line stores, we should have learned enough with it that the Saijiki Stories will be made available through those same outlets.

There are reasons why Summerside is taking forever. At this point, the question is to the tune of … “well, of course X is going to do Y, X would be a fool not to, what with having the means, motive, and opportunity for grand success at it. How does our heroine escape that particular peril?”
I will actually script Summerside and get it up and posted one of these days. I swear. It’s just a lot more complicated than it looks on the outside.

Still working on video game content, but I’m pleased to report that scripting has started for Summerside, if only in fits and starts. I have one of the missing pieces that I needed for it to make sense. (:

Hi everyone! Happy Thanksgiving, if you’re in the US, and if you’re elsewhere, have a terrific day! (:
I have a guest strip up in the blog over at Little Vampires! Drop by and check it out, and check out Becky’s great comic while you’re there. (;
Hope you’ve enjoyed Springside! There’ll be full details on Tuesday, but I’ll be taking a short break for a while. This doesn’t mean no comics (there will be comics!) but it will be a bit before Summerside starts. Take it easy, and have great holidays!
